Enjoy your appliance more with our Online Tips for taking care of your red microwave oven.
Most of my microwave ovens that I’ve ever owned haven’t caused me any repair issues. I suppose that is true for many people. This great appliance seems to keep on running after years of service without any decline in performance.
Although I have seen microwaves, usually in business lunchrooms, get gunked up with food particles because no one periodically helps to maintain it. But even in these adverse conditions microwaves will keep going for a long time before they need replacing.
Microwaves don’t require any extensive or technical maintenance. Almost anyone can maintain the unit with a good cleaning routine, and that should keep it running nicely for the life of the appliance. Below are some good tips to keep your red microwave clean and running smoothly.
(1) If your microwave didn’t come with a food cover be sure to buy a microwave-safe cover. This will make cleanup much easier for the inside of your appliance. A cover will catch almost all the food particles that splatter during cooking. Then after you cook, just wash the cover in the sink with the rest of your dishes.
(2) Even if you have a cover you will need to occasionally clean the inside of your microwave. Usually a quick wiping with a damp dishcloth will remove any small particles that may have escaped your cover. If you leave food in there long enough it may eventually begin to spark and potentially damage your microwave.
(3) Clean the outside of your red microwave also. You will want to keep that red exterior spotless. Believe me, people are drawn to red microwave ovens and they will want to examine it up close. So if it’s not clean your guests will notice it. Be sure to pay careful attention to the control pad area. I know I have set the microwave many times after having my fingers in the food and left smudge marks on the control pad.
By following these simple cleaning tips you will enjoy your red microwave for many years to come and so will your guests.
